In late 2020, I lost a dear friend to a painful illness. She was the kindest and most joyful soul I’ve ever met. Her sudden passing was incredibly hard on all who loved her as she was the brightest light and she was taken from us much too soon. I felt so unsettled after her passing, regretting not seeing her more, wishing I’d learned of her condition sooner, etc. It was a few months after her passing that I met up for a walk with Kendall. Kendall was also connected to this sweet soul when we were kids. I explained to Kendall how unsettled and guilty I was feeling. Kendall shared with me that she had recently gone through a spiritual metamorphosis of sorts and that through her deep meditation practices she had felt our friend’s presence. Kendall asked if I would be comfortable hearing the messages she had received. I quickly agreed, wanting nothing more than to feel the presence of my sweet friend. Over the course of our walk, Kendall explained that our friend was in a great deal of pain in her final days and that she could not longer fight to stay in this life. She did not want me to feel guilt, she was free from her pain and was at peace. Lastly, Kendall shared a song with me that she said captured our friend’s life experience and ultimately explained why she needed to depart. Our friend let Kendall know to look for butterflies as they were symbols that she was present and looking over us. I was extremely emotional and so grateful for Kendall. She provided me answers to my questions, and brought me so much peace. I still feel my sweet friend’s presence with me and I know she is happy and free.
